This is suitable for all decks with two-part metal platters such as the LP12 and Thorens 160 etc. and is designed to minimise resonance from being transmitted to the outer platter from the sub platter. Noise can be transmitted to the sub platter from the main bearing and/or the motor and the small isolating discs in this kit minimise this noise getting through to the outer platter. It lowers the overall noise floor of the turntable and simply makes it sound better! The Tripod Platter Mount Kit contains three isolating discs 1mm thick x 8mm diameter which should be placed equidistantly around the lip of the sub platter as shown in the second picture. The discs are made from a specially selected polymer (beware of imitations, this is our design) chosen after many hours listening tests. The discs will increase the height of the platter by 1mm so you may need to adjust the tonearm height. If you have a turntable which uses a glass or polymer platter (sitting on top of a sub platter) you can still use this kit but you may wish instead to get the adjustable height kit which includes 2mm and 3mm discs.
